Restoration and repair Jozef Kaufmann offers chandelier restoration, repair remodeling and moving service. Our goal is to restore the chandelier to the original condition or as close to it as possible. We can replace, locate or manufacture, broken or missing parts. When you move and you want to take your chandelier with you, we can help you. We will disconnect, disassemble, package, crate, transport and install chandeliers and sconces at your new location. Extensive risk exists when you work on chandeliers; if you decide to do it yourself, please make sure that you always turn the electric off, not only the switch but also the circuit breaker at your main box! Chandelier-cleaning service. Each style and finish of a chandelier requires different techniques and equipment. There is no easy way to clean chandeliers. No magic spray will do the work, sprays tend to wash up some of the surfaces and clog and guff-up every space it can adhere. We do not recommend the use of acetic acid -vinegar. Metal surface, finish and wiring and acid are not good combinations; not to mention electro-photo-thermal reactions of residues. In most cases, we remove all the crystal, and use chemical free, ultrasonic or steam washing and final polishing. Chandelier cleaning requires extensive knowledge and experience not only to clean it but preserve your heirloom as well. |
